Chocolate Buttermilk Brownies

Ingredients
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 sticks Swiss Valley Farms butter
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup cocoa
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup Swiss Valley Farms buttermilk
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup nuts (optional)
Frosting
  • 1 stick Swiss Valley Farms butter
  • 1/3 cup of Swiss Valley Farms buttermilk
  • 2 2/3 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup cocoa
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup nuts


Directions
Mix in a bowl (Do not use a mixer) sugar and flour. In a saucepan bring to a boil; butter, water, and cocoa. Pour over first mixture and beat well. Add eggs, buttermilk, baking soda, vanilla, and nuts. Beat well. Pour into greased 11 x 17 pan. Bake 20 minutes at 400 degrees. FROSTING: Melt butter. Add buttermilk, powdered sugar, cocoa, and vanilla. Beat, then add nuts. Spread on cooled brownies.
