French Breakfast Puffs

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup shortening
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup Swiss Valley Farms milk
  • Topping:
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 6 tbl Swiss Valley Farms butter
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon


Directions
Lightly grease 12 muffin cups, set aside. Stir together flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg. Set aside. In mixer bowl, cream together 1/2 cup sugar, shortening, egg and milk. Gradually add flour mixture, beating well after each addition. Fill prepared muffin cups 3/4 full. Bake in 350° F oven for 20 ? 25 minutes or until golden brown. Combine 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon. Remove muffins from oven, immediately dip in melted butter, then in cinnamon-sugar mixture till coated. Serve warm. Makes 12 muffins.
