Company Overview

Swiss Valley Farms®The objective of the Swiss Valley Farms cooperative has always been to provide a secure market for its members’ milk. Today, that cooperative has evolved through a series of mergers and acquisitions to officially become Swiss Valley Farms. We are now ranked as the 16th largest dairy cooperative in the United States, with sales of $425 million dollars, 700 employees and 1,100 dairy producers in four states.

The company is a leading supplier in the Midwest of milk, cheese and cultured dairy products. The high quality of our products is demonstrated by the numerous awards that we have won in national and international competitions.

One of the factors that has lead to our cooperative’s success over the years has been our diversification between pursuing the fluid milk market, as well as investing heavily in specialty cheeses, such as Swiss and Blue cheese. The combination of these two markets has lead to a strong foundation in the cooperative’s upper Midwest regional marketing.

Customers for Swiss Valley Farms products include grocery store chains, independent grocers, warehouse clubs, convenience stores, schools, food service companies and other food manufacturers.

Swiss Valley Farms has long supported the activities and programs in the communities where it operates. For example, Swiss Valley Farms was the first dairy in the Midwest to offer consumers a chance to collect milk caps that could be redeemed for money for their schools. For every cap sent in, Swiss Valley Farms gives a nickel to the school, which can be used for any purpose. Begun in 1999, the Cash for Caps™ program has raised over $180,000 in cash for schools in the communities where Swiss Valley Farms milk is sold.
