On Monday, Swiss Valley announced that the company has officially become a supplier to DOT Foods, the largest food re-distributor in the United States. By teaming up with DOT, Swiss Valley hopes to expand its customer base and reach more markets through the DOT distribution chain. "This opens a whole new channel of distribution for us," said Bob Livingston, General Sales Manager for Swiss Valley. "In the past, freight costs and inventory levels were burdens to servicing smaller customers, but DOT now gives us that capability."
DOT plans to carry Swiss Valley's full-line of specialty cheeses, including Swiss, Baby Swiss, Blue cheese, Gorgonzola, Cream cheese and Neufchatel. Business partners of DOT can buy Swiss Valley products online via the DOT Expressway, an online ordering service offered by the company.
